ANNE-MARIE MOUGEOT

Osteopathic Practitioner & Kinesiologist/ Exercise Therapist - B.Sc. Kin., D.O.M.P.

Anne-Marie was drawn to Osteopathy through her interest in anatomy and physiology, and her desire to learn more about how to help the body to heal itself. She loves that Osteopathy is gentle in nature, and that as an Osteopathic Practitioner, she has the ability to take time to get to know her patients and to work with them in a caring and respectful way. Anne-Marie has a wide range of clinical experience, having worked with people of all ages and with various health conditions.

She has a special interest in women's health and chronic pain. She is currently focused on learning science-based approaches to help people to manage or overcome their pain and discomfort.

As a student, Anne-Marie was fortunate to combine her love of travel and her passion for helping others. She traveled to Nicaragua in 2008 to volunteer as a paediatric physiotherapy assistant as well as the Sports Medicine Trainer for the Diriangen professional soccer team. In 2014, she had the pleasure of volunteering with Osteopathic Practitioners from around the world with Osteopathy Without Borders in Peru.

In addition to her clinical experience as an Osteopathic Practitioner, Anne-Marie has over 10 years of experience in the health and fitness field, having worked as a Certified Personal Trainer in both rehabilitative and private settings, and as an exercise research assistant at the University of Saskatchewan. Her love of movement stems from her background in dance which has lead her to teaching a variety of movement based classes, including yoga, various types of fitness classes, and restorative exercises. Anne-Marie likes to be active in a variety of fun ways, includes yoga, rock climbing, hiking, and exploring trails with her dog.

Originally from Saskatchewan, Anne-Marie was brought up in a bilingual household and is happy to offer her services in both English and French and is currently the only Osteopathic Manual Practitioner in Nanaimo who is a member of Osteopathy BC.
