Brynn graduated with Honors from the Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences program in Sheridan College in Brampton, Ontario in 2010.
Growing up in small town Chemainus, Brynn enjoyed playing every sport available to her. She played Soccer, Volleyball, and Basketball and eventually focused on Rugby in post secondary with the University of Victoria Vikes and the Velox Valkyries. She can often now be found playing in various sports leagues around Nanaimo, doing yoga at home or at the Moksha Yoga Nanaimo studios, or taking advantage of Vancouver Island's lakes, trails and beaches.
Playing competitive sport up to the University level, Brynn gained an exceptional understanding of the close knit relationship of activity and injury. Sustaining injuries herself, she saw first-hand the difference that professional care made in her own recovery and performance, and she knew for sure that she wanted to contribute to the field of injury management and health. She has combined her love of sports and movement with a passion for health and education into a practice that looks at each individual’s needs and goals and comes up with a treatment plan and strategy specific to them. Her scope of practice as an Athletic Therapist varies from Clinical Injury Rehabilitation using manual techniques and exercise prescription, to taping and bracing of injuries for return to sport and daily life. She also does First Aid and Injury Management on the sidelines at sporting events.
Her passion is in helping people at all levels of health and fitness to reach their goals and improve their quality of life with support and education. She loves working with all ages and physical abilities so don't let the title "Athletic Therapist" make you think she only works with athletes!
Brynn is an advocate of Athletic Therapy and its presence and growth in Nanaimo. If you want to know more about what an Athletic Therapist does, please CLICK HERE or email Brynn at email@example.com.
